Clinging to the, they win I lose mentality is holding you back from reaching your true potential. It’s about time you realize this and do something about it!
Life is not a zero sum game, but sometimes is sure feels that way. If you’re an ambitious person (which I believe you are) you’re bound to feel like a failure from time to time. Having big goals and dreams will inevitably set you up to feel like you aren’t living up to your expectations when there are bumps along the road. And isn’t it odd how seeing others succeed around you can just amplify your own feelings of failure! Other people’s “highlight reel” can have a way of making us feel less at times. Don’t you just hate that!
I am here to tell you that this mentality of scarcity could be the very thing that’s holding you back from reaching your true potential!
Just because someone else is achieving success does not mean that you are experiencing a loss! In fact it is quite the opposite. You may have lost out on that particular job or project that you wanted, but there are literally billions more people in the world and thousands upon thousands more opportunities to achieve what it is you’re going for! When other people succeed in your industry it’s good for everyone! Have you ever heard the saying, “A rising tide lifts all boats”? The world needs more people at the top. The world needs more people living and working at their highest potential! Sometimes it can be hard to see that, but it’s true!
Not winning at one particular time doesn’t mean you’re not a winner!
There is enough to go around, there is room for many, many people at the top and there are different time frames and paths that will take us each where it is we want to go. Seeing others achieve things you want before you do, means only that. That they achieved it before you, NOT instead of you!
Try keeping things in perspective! For most of you reading this, your very worst day would seem like a vacation or even a fairy tale to people who have real problems – like living in war zones, not having a enough to eat or having to walk miles each day just to retrieve fresh water to drink.
A flat tire, running late for a meeting or even failing in your business or getting passed over for a promotion, doesn’t seem that bad once you learn to develop perspective.
Developing a realistic perspective gives you the ability to feel abundance even in the face of failure. You have so much to be grateful for, so much to be proud of right where you are today! Sure, you want more and that’s ok - you are going to go out there and get it (I am here to help you with that)! But don’t forget to stop and feel good about what you have already accomplished.
Having FEELINGS of abundance is just want you need to MANIFEST abundance in your life!
So, I urge you now to stop the comparison game and the feelings of loss while watching others win! Stay focused on what it is you’re going for and keep at it.
Developing realistic perspective and feelings of abundance will help you achieve that special something you were put on this Earth to do! Take a minute to be thankful for where you are and celebrate others successes as best you can.
Stop the feels of scarcity, there is more than enough to go around. - I promise!
